Global Positioning System
The GPS is a satellite besed navigation system made up of a network of 24 satellites placed into orbit by the U.S. department of defence. Military actions was the original intent for GPS.
Weather conditions do not affect the ability for GPS to work. The system works 24/7 anywhere in the world. There is no subscription fees or setup charges to use GPS. This system was developed in 1973 by U.S. department of defence. It was discovered by Bradford Parkinson, Roger L Easton and Even A Getting. The three major segments of GPS system are:
(i) Space Segment (SS)
(ii) Control Segment (CS)
(iii) User Segment (US)
